Material Colors
All CDI color options begin with either white or gray cement and natural aggregates. Iron oxide pigments are added to the base mixes to achieve our integral standard color line. This process is the most cost-effective way to ensure the quality and durability of the colored unit. Due to the natural variables in the raw materials of concrete/cast stone color variations are to be expected. CDI supplies color samples as a representation of the final color. Where there is concern for close color matching CDI recommends working with a product consultant to arrive at a control sample. This control sample is used on the jobsite to verify delivery and is the job specific control that is used in the production process. In addition to the standard colors offered; CDI is able to match customer provided samples to produce an almost endless variety of custom colors. Please call (520) 624-6653 for more information.
Material Textures
CDI utilizes the latest in concrete technology to achieve the visual and structural requirements that your project requires. The “Modern” texture is achieved using Self Consolidating Concrete (SCC) which allows for a smooth low void surface. The “Traditional” texture is characterized by randomly spaced voids typical when casting with conventional concrete mixes. Our “Etched” and “Cast Stone” finishes are achieved with a secondary acid etching process to lightly expose the aggregates and give it a natural limestone look. Sandblasting and exposed aggregate textures are also available. GFRC is typically cast in the “Modern” texture but depending on the application the other finishes may be available.
Custom textures are also available.
