Dimensions
Product dimensions utilize two conventions, nominal and exact. In general, lengths are expressed in nominal terms (the actual lengths may be as much as 1/2” less); widths and thicknesses are usually stated in 1/8” increments. Our products are manufactured to a dimensional tolerance of 1/8”.

Our products are hand-cast; the casting process requires a “draft,” resulting in slightly slanted (tapered) sides on our products.

Product Installation
CDI is a product design and manufacturing company exclusively and does no installation. The selection of an installer for our products is up to the customer. We recommend that when you make that selection, you place knowledge, experience, and reputation high on your list of considerations and that you choose a professional who specializes in precast concrete. Compliance with local building codes is essential when installing the products, as well as when designing the project. Your product consultant is available to discuss installation with you. The information that follows will be important to your installer.

Products will arrive palletized by product type, such as balusters, stretchers, wall caps, etc. The easiest way to organize the installation is to spread the products out on the ground in the configuration in which they will be installed. This is particularly helpful for mantels and surrounds. Careful and thorough planning will result in an attractive, successful installation.

Products are manufactured in fixed lengths, and field cuts are usually required. Joint placements should be carefully determined prior to cutting.
